RE: **Duty and fees at Canadian Border?**
Since your not a Canadian Resident you most likely won't pay any taxes (GST & PST). I believe that if you have US state plates on it, and drive it up you'll be fine to leave it there. Just make sure that your insurance covers it if its stored out of the country. The only time you'll have to pay any taxes is if you sell it in Canada, or try and register it in Canada. In order to register it in Canada you will need import papers from customs, which is when you'll be paying taxes.
RE: Keystone's VR1
I have a VR1 279FLS, with the couch up front in the "V"...I'm towing it with an F150. The 279FLS that I have they stopped making in the beginning of 2007 i believe, its same size as the unit with the bathroom up front. I wouldn't want to go any bigger then the smallest VR1...the tongue weight gets pretty heavy for a 1/2 ton.
RE: V-Front TT Manufacturers
I bought a VR1 from the States last fall, brand new paid $16K, cost me another $1500 (I think it was $1/mile to transport)to get it to the US side of the border where I picked it up and brought it across myself to save the brokerage fees. Had no problems at the border, paid the GST and was gone in 15 minutes. The dealer was very helpful and made sure all the paperwork was in order...I would do it again in a instant!
Go for it, look south of the border, the deals are way better.
RE: weird shaped TT that is built over the LP tanks
My VR1 279FLS behind my FX4 F150. This is the model with the couch upfront. There are 2 LP tanks in the rear, with space for a third. Heres a few pic's.

RE: LOOK AT THE VR1 !
I have 279FLS that I pull with my FX4 F150. I wouldn't go any bigger. This is the same length/weight as the 275 with the bath up front. The smaller of the VR1's.

I love the layout with the couch up front.
